Travel information For a safe and carefree holiday

After the difficult times of late, you deserve some time off to relax – but are sure that you will have a lot of questions. We will of course be happy to answer them.

Below, you will find information about our hygiene concept as well as the cancellation conditions. We are looking forward to finally welcoming you back.

Hygiene concept Your health is important to us

So that we can protect you and our staff to the best of our ability, it is essential to comply with the legally prescribed arrival conditions and hygiene regulations. What sounds like something you need to get used to at first is intended to give you a safe and relaxing holiday. We will do everything we can to make the requirements as smooth as possible for you. After all, you should feel completely relaxed during your holiday.

Travel conditions

The Corona warning light stipulates that the so-called 2G-Plus rule applies to indoor areas throughout Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The following conditions must be met for the stay:

  • Current negative corona test (rapid test or PCR)
  • Recovery (evidence of maximum 6 months old)
  • Vaccinated (1-fold for Johnson & Johnson vaccine or 2-fold for all other vaccines, proof via CovPass app or with written proof / vaccination certificate)

The only exceptions are the guest groups still permitted in the respective Corona regulation, such as children between 7 and 16 years of age, pregnant women and people who are not allowed to be vaccinated for health reasons. These require a certificate from the doctor that the vaccination is exempt (for health reasons). When you arrive, we will check your vaccination status and negative test at the hotel entrance according to the conditions mentioned and ask you to identify yourself.

Stay at the hotel

During your stay in our hotel, it is necessary to keep a safe distance of 1.5 m from persons not in your group. In the public hotel areas (reception, corridors, lifts, observation tower), you are required to wear a face covering (OP or FFP2 mask). This is of course not necessary on the beach or during a short hike through the biosphere reserve.

Time in your room

We are not currently providing magazines and room folders in your room. All hotel information can be found in our digital travel guide at: http://gss.onl/vjuhotelruegen. You can contact our reception staff as usual with your requests, who are available for you 24 hours a day.

Room cleaning

Also because of our location in the middle of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, we want to play our part in ensuring sustainability. To reduce the use of cleaning agents and save energy and water resources, we carry out classic room cleaning every second day. On all other days, we make your beds, empty the rubbish bin, refill toilet paper and facial tissues and change the towels that are placed on the floor.

With our environmental door sign, you can reduce classic room cleaning. If you only need a fresh towel or toiletries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our housekeeping staff are on duty on the floors daily from 8:00 to 16:00. Of course, you can ask for your room to be cleaned at any time. Our reception staff will be happy to take your request.

Behaviour in the event of illness

We kindly ask all guests to call reception in case of any signs of illness. In the interest of the health of all guests, we would like to point out that we do not accept any exceptions to wearing a face covering.

In the restaurants

Your visit to the restaurant is also subject to official regulations and changes. Please also ensure that you keep a sufficient distance from other guests, observe the floor markings and only enter the restaurant with a face covering. At the table, it is of course not necessary to wear a face covering.

Our tables in the restaurant and in the outdoor area are spaced at the required minimum distance or can only be occupied with the corresponding distance. For your safety, our service staff will wear face coverings and clean tables and chairs after each use.

Breakfast

Our large breakfast selection will be waiting for you at the buffet. At our egg station, you can order omelettes, scrambled eggs or fried eggs from our breakfast chef. Due to the applicable social distancing rules and the corresponding limited number of places, we are currently only able to offer three breakfast times. Choose from:

  • Breakfast for "sun-risers": 07:30 – 08:30
  • Breakfast for "early birds": 08:45 – 09:45
  • Breakfast for "late risers": 10:00 – 11:00

Please select your preferred time in our breakfast list. To be able to comply with the legal requirements regarding social distancing, we kindly ask you to attend the breakfast exclusively during the reserved time.

Dinner

Our kitchen team will spoil you with delicious food in the evening in our restaurant area. The buffet offers a variety of main courses (fish, meat, vegetarian) as well as a fine selection of starters and desserts.

Dinner is available at the following times:

  • 18:00 till 19:00
  • 19:00 till 20:00
  • 20:00 till 21:00

The evening buffet costs 32.00 euros and is free for children up to 6 years old, with children up to 12 years old paying half price. Due to the Covid-19 social distancing regulations, we kindly ask you to attend the evening buffet only during your reserved time.

Wellness & treatments

Our wellness team is looking forward to your visit to our spa. Please make your appointment at our reception no later than 18:00 the day before.

Swimming pool & sauna

Please note that use is only possible for six guests at a time. You will receive your entry card to the area at the reception. Please also leave your name in the user list there.

  • Swimming pool opening hours: 07:00 – 22:00
  • Finnish sauna opening hours: 16:00 – 22:00

To allow as many guests as possible to use our swimming pool and sauna despite the restrictions on the number of persons, your visit is currently limited to one hour. Due to the state regulation, we are currently only allowed to operate the Finnish sauna.

Facade work Renovation work for you

From 2 September 2021, renovation work will begin on the façade of our main building. These are expected to last until mid-November and will take place Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. If you have any questions, our reservations team will be happy to assist you.

FAQs Vouchers and cancellation terms

We will be happy to convert your existing booking with the amount already paid into a voucher that you can redeem for a new booking at a later date. To secure your travel plans, you can choose from various booking options with us that affect price, payment options and cancellation terms:

Promotional rate 20 %

You will receive a 20 % discount on the overnight rate incl. breakfast (does not apply to arrangements and offers, cannot be combined with other promotions). You only pay on arrival; a free cancellation is possible up to 7 days before arrival and you can amend your booking up to 1 day before arrival. (Valid for bookings with travel dates before 31.03.2021)

Daily rate

Your booking is guaranteed and we will keep your room free even if you arrive after 18:00. For this, we need a credit card number as a guarantee. With this option, cancellation free of charge is possible up to 24 hours before arrival. In the event of no-show or late cancellation, we take the liberty of issuing an invoice for 90 % of the total amount. We are entitled to charge the specified credit card accordingly.

With this option, cancellation free of charge is possible up to 7 days before arrival. If you are prevented from travelling due to official orders

Changes can be decided daily by the government in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, the "force majeure" provision in our T&Cs shall apply. If you decide to rearrange your trip, we will give you a voucher for the amount already paid and cancellations are possible in this case. This only applies if you book directly with us. The regulations of other providers may differ.

Booking your trip through other providers

If you have booked your stay through a travel agency or booking portal, the booking and cancellation conditions of the respective provider apply. We kindly ask you to get in touch with the relevant contact person.

Travel cancellation insurance

If it is not possible for you to start your journey for personal reasons, travel cancellation insurance will cover the cancellation costs under certain conditions. The respective provider will inform you about the terms and conditions. Travel cancellation insurance can also be taken out during our online booking process.

Corona pandemic update

Dear guests,

due to the current situation, we can only welcome vaccinated or recovered guests (2G access) in our hotel for the protection of our guests and employees. This applies to the participation in all hotel events, the visit of the gastronomic facilities of our hotel as well as the entire hotel stay.
